“call you names”并不是在“叫你名字”， 别被骂了都不知道...

看到callsomeonenames这个短语，我们肯定会想到中文里面的“叫某人名字”，如果你真这么想，那就真的很尴尬了。

其实我们经常所说的“叫某人名字”是“callone'sname”，这与“callonenames”是不一样的。

“callsomeonenames”实际上表示的是“辱骂某人”。

注意二者的区别：

所以，callsomeonenames并不是“喊某人的名字”，它的真实含义是“辱骂别人”即Ifsomeonecallsyounames,theyinsultyoubysayingunpleasantthingstoyouoraboutyou.

这个用法尤其用于孩子之间的辱骂。

例：

在学校里，欺凌行为有很多种形式，包括对别人耳语和骂人。

点出(或指出)(做错事者)的名字

第一个name是动词，意思是“说出…的名称”，第二个names是名词，意思就是“名字”。

namenames就是对于“错误”而“说出某（些）人的名字”，即Ifyounamenames,youidentifythepeoplewhohavedonesomething,oftensomethingwrong.

例：

IknewsomeonehadliedbutIwouldn'tnamenames.

而namenonames，意思则为（为给对方留面子而）不点名。

英文释义为：tosaynospecificnameornameswhenreportingordiscussinganincident.
